Artist Statement
A fleeting moment captured by the aperture's click, a digital recording of earths enchantments. The fanned span of a water bird’s wing as it hovers over its newly hatched young. Lustrous forest vistas cut the landscape, bustling activity of migratory animals litter the floor ushering in the season’s activities.
The beauty of nature has always been one of my personal inspirations and thru the art of photography, I have attempted to capture the harmony that nature offers, the interplay of animals with their habitat and the effects that the forest and fauna has on our lives while we are in its presence.
Like other artists before me I am inspired by the beauty of light in the early morning on a forest as well as the colors of a sunset as the sun goes down behind the mountains and the night begins. I am also interested in capturing the interaction between the animals and birds that inhabit our national parks as they go through their daily life in their protected environment.
I hope that when viewers see my images they come to realize that our national parks and nature preserves are a world within themselves as well as a basic and important part of the chain of life in our world as a whole. I also hope that together as a race we can manage to control our ever expanding role in the destruction of these magical places and that our children do not have to rely on photos for seeing how it once was, but rather as the beauty of nature as it has always been…
